Bye Week Blues?

The Browns are off this weekend, but it’s not so bad. Fans are guaranteed not to see their team lose and can afford to spend more of their Sunday with loved ones, outside, etc.   I’m going to try to do both and hopefully will be able to block out more coverage about team infighting and personnel on the hot seat.

The Browns have six remaining contests – three home match-ups within the division, trips to Seattle and Kansas City, and a home matchup versus the 49ers. At this point, I don’t even care whether the Browns can scrape together wins – I just want to see the younger guys play and improve. I need hope for the 2016 campaign and that would suffice for the time being.

As far as the draft is concerned (I’m actually at that point) I am leaning towards Jared Goff or Paxton Lynch – under the assumption that the Browns will finish with one of the two worst records in the league. However, Johnny Manziel will have his shot to take a firm grasp of this offense and could cause the general manager (be it Ray Farmer or the next guy) to choose a player who plays a different position.

I have the next six weeks, as well as the offseason to lament what went down over the past few months and be disappointed about this franchise. However, I will choose not to – I might actually watch some good NFL football for a change. One of these years, I will be able to say that about the Cleveland Browns.
