Cleveland Gets Hard Fought Loss In Week 4

Thursday night was rough for anyone who loves the Cleveland Browns.  Going into a game against division rivals The Baltimore Ravens, they needed a win big in primetime.  They kept up with the Ravens throughout the game, but were unable to get the job done when it mattered.  They look for a win in week 5 against the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, but don’t get your hopes up.  While they may not win in MetLife stadium this Sunday, they do look like a solid candidate on NFL picks for the week at a +10 point spread for the game.

The thing many are forgetting about the Browns this season is the fact that they have kept every game relatively close.  Two of their three losses on the season came by only a touchdown.  While they Giants can score points, they are also easily flustered, and the Browns have a defense that can pressure Eli manning all day.  If they can keep Eli on the ground this Sunday, that not only will cover the spread but will also have a chance, if only a small one, of getting their first win on the season.

Of course, they will need to get the ball moving on offense as well if they wish to stand a chance in week 5.  Quarterback Brandon Weeden will need to do more than he has been throughout the season and actually throw some touchdowns.  They can only go to rookie running back Trent Richardson so much throughout the game.  At some point, Weeden needs to step it up and do more than just give the ball to his back.  If he can, the Brown will be able to start racking up some wins on the season.

Don’t get your hopes up for a Browns win this week in New York, but you can get them up for Cleveland to cover.  They seem like a relatively safe bet going into week 5.
