Bengals Spoil Pat Shurmur’s Debut

On 9/11/2011, the Browns hosted the Bengals and were hoping to give new head coach, Pat Shurmur, a win in his debut as an NFL head coach. Instead the game ended 27-17 in favor of the Cincinnati Bengals, but it was due in part to a disorganized Browns team on the field. The defining moment of the game that will leave Browns fans in anger for another week was the A.J. Green 37-yard touchdown reception to give the Bengals a lead that they wouldn’t lose from there. The reason that play is so memorable is because no one was covering the rookie WR on the play, so all Green did was run down field and catch an uncontested lob from Gradkowski.

Next week the Browns travel to Indianapolis to play the Peyton Manning-less Colts. Stay tuned for more information and previews regarding the Browns @ Colts game in week 2!
